Biography

Lyudmila Ilieva was born in Dobrich. She began her professional ballet education at the Prof. Veselin Stoyanov Secondary School, Ruse. She graduated from the National School of Dance Art in 2001 in the class of Mariana Deneva, Petar Koldamov and Margarita Dimitrova.

In the same year, she joined the troupe of the Sofia Opera and Ballet, where she works up to this day. She began as artist-ballerina, and later on she was promoted in artist solo ballerina.

Awards:

In 2001 she was awarded First Prize at the Tenth Anastas Petrov National Competition.

She has danced the following solo parts:

“Zorba the Greek” – Marina; “Giselle” – Myrtha; “The Nutcracker” – Russian and Spanish Doll; “Don Quixote” – Two Friends and Red Tutu; “Swan Lake” – Pas de trois; “La Bayadère” – Pas de trois and others.
