Emil Pavlov

Biography

Emil Pavlov was born in 1992 in Veliko Tarnovo and is a third-generation tenor. He graduated from "Emilian Stanev" High School with a degree in clarinet. For several years he was part of a children's theatre school at the "Konstantin Kisimov" Musical and Dramatic Theatre in Veliko Tarnovo.

In 2015 she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in classical singing at the "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov" National Academy of Music. He won first prize in the 10th European Youth Competition "The Crown of Tarnovgrad" 2014 and third prize and laureate title at the "Svetoslav Obretenov" National Competition for Young Instrumentalists and Singers. He won third prize at the "Romansiada" Festival of Russian Classical and Modern Romance in Moscow; Grand Prix at the Third "Art Stars – Stars of Art" International Music Competition; first prize at the "Slavic Bell" International Youth Festival; special prize at the first "Stoyan Popov" competition, as well as third place and audience prize at "22 Wielki Turniej Tenorow" in Szczecin.

He took part in Imre Kálmán's operettas "The Czardas Queen" as Edwin, "Countess Maritza" as Count Tassilo and in Franz Lehár's "The Merry Widow" as Camille de Rosillon. He has sung in the operas "The Secret Marriage" by Domenico Cimarosa as Paolino, "The Little Square" by Wolf-Ferrari as Zorzeto, "The Magic Flute" by W.A. Mozart as Tamino, "Eugene Onegin" by P.I. Tchaikovsky in the role of Lensky, "La Traviata" by Giuseppe Verdi in the role of Alfredo Germont, "Nabucco" in the role of Ishmael, "Elektra" by Richard Strauss in the role of Aegisthus, "Ariadne auf Naxos" in the role of the Dance Teacher and in "The Flying Dutchman" in the role of the Steward.

Since 2016, he has been specializing in opera singing with the world-famous Bulgarian soprano Krassimira Stoyanova. Since 2017, he has been a soloist of the State Opera –Plovdiv, and since the 2017/2018 season he has been a soloist of the Sofia Opera and Ballet. In 2018 he performed in the opera "Yana's Nine Brothers" by Lyubomir Pipkov, which was also presented at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. He has been a guest at the international festivals "Mozart Holidays" in Pravets, "Days of Music in Balabanov's House" in Plovdiv, "MusikArtisimo" and in concerts of the Sofia Philharmonic. He has participated in concerts and performances in Germany, Poland, Moscow and Malta.
