BLAGОVESTA KONSTANTINOVA

Blagovesta Konstantinova graduated from the Bulgarian State Conservatory (now Prof. Pancho Vladigerov Academy of Music) with a degree in piano under prof. Lyuba Encheva and a master class with prof. Lili Atanasova. She is a long-time lecturer at Prof. Pancho Vladigerov Academy of Music, and since 2009 she has been a professor of Chamber singing. She performs actively in the country and abroad as a soloist and chamber musician. Her repertoire includes works for solo piano, piano and orchestra, vocal and instrumental chamber music from pre-classical to contemporary. First performer of over 200 new Bulgarian works. Numerous studio and documentary recordings at BNR, BNT, Radio Belgrade, Hanoi National Television, published records and CDs. Regular participant as performer and composer in the New Bulgarian Music review, the international festivals Varna Summer, Schleswig Holstein – Germany, Festival of Slavic Culture – Paris. Author of the monograph "Mozart's Songs for Voice and Piano", the book "Musical Encounters", studies and articles on musical art. She has participated as a pianist in international summer music academies on song interpretation in Germany. She was a jury member of national and international competitions and festivals. She held a master class in chamber singing at the Hanoi National Conservatory (2007). Many of her students are laureates of Bulgarian and international competitions.

Major awards: "Golden Muse" for high artistic achievements (2004), "Golden Lyre" from the Union of Bulgarian Musicians and Dancers for high artistic achievements in piano art (2011), Laureate of the 7th International Piano Competition – Belgrade (1977), Best Accompaniment Award at the Boris Christoff International Competition for Young Opera Singers (2004), Diploma at the International Festival of Slavic Culture in Paris (2004). Winner of the First Boris Christoff Composition Competition (2009), Honorary Diploma in Composition at the XXX "Music and the Earth" International Competition (2011), Winner of the VI "Ivan Spasov" International Composition Competition (2013). Honorary diplomas from the Russian Cultural and Information Centre for excellence in the development of Bulgarian-Russian cultural relations and promotion of Russian music in Bulgaria. "Crystal Necklace" for outstanding contribution to the development of Bulgarian music culture from the Union of Bulgarian Musicians and Dancers (2021).

She is included in the editions of "Who is Who", "Notable Bulgarian Women" and "Notable Bulgarians". She has performed numerous stylish concerts dedicated to the work of J.S. Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Schumann, Wagner, Brahms, Rachmaninov, P. Vladigerov, Rimsky-Korsakov, Gershwin, etc.

She is the author of over 300 songs, vocal cycles, instrumental pieces, suites, duos, trios, the opera "The Peach Thief". Her works have been performed in Bulgaria and abroad. Her songs are performed by young singers at national and international competitions. Her works have been recorded in the studio and documentary in BNR, BNT and Hanoi National Television.
