Biography

Sunay Muratov, who was born in Pleven, Bulgaria, in 1967, started his musical education by playing the violin for the first time at the age of six. He entered the Violin Department of Pipkov Music College in 1976 and graduated with a High Honor Certificate in 1986. He continued his musical education at the Pancho Vladigerov State Music Academy in Sofia, studying theory, composition and conducting. He started his professional music career as an Orchestra Conductor before graduating from the music academy. Muratov, who was the Deputy Conductor of the Bulgarian Madrigal Choir between 1990 and 1995, participated in many international festivals with this choir. Between 1993 and 2000, he gave concerts as a conductor with the Vidin, Pleven, Burgas, Varna and Sofia Orchestras, participated in festivals and made successful tours to countries such as Germany, Austria, France and Spain. Between 1995 and 1997, he served as Orchestra Conductor at the Burgas State Opera and Ballet and conducted Mozart's immortal work "The Magic Flute". In 1996, he worked as a "Guest Conductor" at the Sofia State Opera and Ballet and worked with Prof. He served as "Assistant Conductor" under the direction of B. Hinchev and directed the opera "La Judith". Between 1997 and 2000, he served as Orchestra Conductor at the Varna State Opera and Ballet and coached the Varna State Opera and Ballet Choir. During the same period, he also served as music director. Muratov worked at the General Directorate of State Opera and Ballet in Ankara at the end of 1999; He started working as an Orchestra Conductor and Choir Conductor. "The Bat", "Cavalleria Rusticana - I Pagliacci", "Midas's Ears", "Don Quixote", "Tannhauser", "Rusalka", "Il Trovatore", "Nabucco", "Peter and the Wolf at the Opera", "The Nutcracker", "Swan Lake", "Anna Karenina", "Yunus Emre Oratorio" are among the works he directed. Muratov, who has conducted many concerts and participated in festivals, also directed the works "Nabucco" and "Swan Lake" at the Aspendos International Opera and Ballet Festival. The artist currently serves as "Orchestra Conductor" at Ankara State Opera and Ballet and "General Music Director" at the General Directorate of State Opera and Ballet. He is a faculty member at Hacettepe University State Conservatory.
