Biography

Lilia Kehayova has been in the troupe of the Sofia Opera for five years. In that time, she has established herself with roles such as Tatyana from “Eugene Onegin” by Tchaikovsky and Yana from Lyubomir Pipkov's “Yana's Nine Brothers”. At the same time, she performed roles in operas by Verdi /“Simon Boccanegra”, “Aida”, “Macbeth”/, Wagner /“Die Walküre”/, Mozart /“Don Giovanni”/.

An important stage in her improvement is the work with the unsurpassed Anna Tomowa-Sintow on the role of Donna Elvira in “Don Giovanni”, as well as the master class of Dolora Zajick, who supported her for the development of the image of Elektra.

Lilia debuted on the opera stage during still her studies at the State Academy of Music “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov” in Sofia – she took part in the production of the educational opera theatre “Le Nozze di Figaro” in the role of Susanna. Later she was invited to the staging of the Plovdiv Opera of Chimarosa's “Il Matrimonio Segreto” as Elisetta, as well as to Rossini's “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” at the Veliko Tarnovo Musical Theatre as Rosina. After graduating, Lilia Kehayova performed with undiminished success roles as Aida from “Aida”, Leonora from “Il Trovatore”, Micaëla from “Carmen”, Marguerite from “Faust” on Bulgarian and international stages.

The singer specialized with Sylvia Geszty in Luxembourg, Mirella Parutto in the Boris Christoff Rome Academy, Adriana Stamenova-Porta in Milan.

In 2015, Lilia Kehayova debuted at the Sofia Opera in the role of Tamara from the opera “Borislav” by Maestro Georgi Atanasov at the summer festival "Stagee of the Centuries" in Veliko Tarnovo.
