The Sofia Opera presents the premiere performances of the ballet “Pride and Prejudice” on the 21st, 22nd, 24th and 25th of March.
The stage interpretation inspired by Jane Austen’s classic novel is under the directorship and choreography of Leo Muic: an artist with international authority famous for his refined psychological methods and cinematographic dynamic.
The production combines a classic line and contemporary sensitivity, building a world of emotions, character and social contrasts. “Pride and Prejudice” is a ballet of the power of choice, of the prejudices which separate us and the feelings which overcome them.
Pieces by Ralph von Williams, Sir Edward Elgar, Henry Purcell, Sir Charels Paris, George Fr. Handel and others will sound in the performance.
Starring Sofia Opera prima ballerinas and premiere lead dancers Marta Petkova, Katerina Petrova, Boryana Petrova, Frederico Pinto, Tsetso Ivanov, Nikola Hadzhitanev, Emil Yordanov, Sofia Opera lead ballet dancers and corps de ballet.
