"Muses of Water" for the third time on Lake Pancharevo

The lake mirror at Pancharevo will gather for the third consecutive year emblematic music, ethereal voices and dance magic at the summer festival "Muses of Water" within the 13th edition of the festival "Opera in the Park" under the patronage of the Mayor of Sofia Municipality. The conceptual design of Acad. Plamen Kartaloff will make us empathize with authentic summer experiences with operatic masterpieces and ballet classics from 9 July to 4 September on Lake Pancharevo.

This summer there are two premieres – the romantic opera "Der fliegende Holländer" by Richard Wagner and the ballet "A Midsummer Night's Dream" by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdi based on the comedy of the same name by William Shakespeare.

The full range of opera performances also includes "La Donna del Lago", "La Cenerentola", "Carmen", "Eugene Onegin", "Madama Butterfly", the ballets "Swan Lake", "Le Corsaire" and "Zorba the Greek" and the musical "Mamma mia!".

In the romance of a fiery sunset, lake waters, longed-for spiritual delight and musical triumph, we look forward to seeing you around the lake mirror of Pancharevo, ready to touch even the thinnest strings of the soul, reads the invitation of the Sofia Opera and Ballet. And they add: "The achievements of the Sofia Opera have long been noticed by the world audience and the specialized press. Our goal is to move forward successfully, despite the challenges of the times."

The XIII Summer Festival "Opera in the Park 2022" will take place from 25 June to 31 July. The open-air presentation in the natural environment in the park of the G.S. Rakovski Academy of Defence every year attracts the citizens and guests of the capital in a cultural space of a new type.
