The Bolshoi Theatre received a compensation for the not received incomes because of the quarantine
The Bolshoi Theatre received a state compensation for the not received incomes because of the quarantine for three months. About this, according to the data of RIA Novosti, declared the theatre’s General Director Vladimir Urin.
According to the words of the manager of the Bolshoi Theatre, the government has recompensated just partially the months of compulsory inactivity, and part of the means the theatre had itself, thanks to the annual reserve of a certain amount for unforeseen circumstances.
Urin reported also that the government was examining a variant for limiting the expenses in the budgetary sphere with 10% and this is why the Bolshoi Theatre, according to the words of its Director, will be forced to tighten its belt in 2021. At that Urin emphasized that the price of the tickets in the Bolshoi Theatre will not increase.
According to the words of the theatre’s General Director, for the time of the quarantine Bolshoi Theatre has not received from sale of tickets of the order of 850 million roubles, and considering the cancellation of the guest-performances the amount exceeds one milliard.

Earlier, the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree for allocation of 7,48 milliard roubles for the reconstruction of the Chamber stage of the Bolshoi Theatre. The project works will finish next year, and the main reconstruction will last from 2022 to 2024.
The State Academic Bolshoi Theatre will open its 245th season on 6 September with Giuseppe Verdi’s opera “Don Carlo”, one of the lead parts in which will perform Anna Netrebko. The sale of tickets started on 15 August.
