Leandro Marziotte, winner of the First Prize at the Göttingen International Handel Competition in Germany, is a countertenor recognized for his interpretation of the operatic repertoire of Georg Friedrich Handel.
He has played leading roles such as Orlando ( Orlando ), Ottone and Nerone ( Agrippina ), Arsamene ( Serse ), Fernando ( Rodrigo ), Hamor ( Jephtha ) and Judas ( Brockes-Passion ), consolidating a career closely linked to the dramatic and vocal universe of Handel.
He has also played Orpheus in Gluck's Orpheus and Eurydice , the Sorceress and the Spirit in Purcell's Dido and Aeneas , and Oberon in Britten's A Midsummer Night's Dream .
He has performed on international stages such as the Teatro Real in Madrid , l'Opéra Royal de Versailles , the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires , the Ópera Nacional de Bellas Artes in Mexico , the Victoria Hall in Geneva and the Maison Symphonique in Montreal .
He has collaborated with leading ensembles and conductors such as Cappella Mediterranea (Leonardo García Alarcón), Le Poème Harmonique (Vincent Dumestre), Il Gusto Barocco (Jörg Halubeck) and Ensemble Caprice (Matthias Maute).
His extensive discography includes recordings for SONY Music, Ricercar, Accent, Arcana, Alpha, Naxos and Harmonia Mundi , most notably the world first recording of Heinichen's baroque opera Flavio Crispo , in which he sang the lead role.
Trained at the Faculty of Arts of Uruguay, the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, and the Strasbourg Conservatory, where he earned four advanced diplomas, he has developed an international career focused on the Baroque repertoire.
