Georgina Ocampo

Biography

Georgina Ocampo was born in Caracas, Venezuela. She began taking dance lessons at the National School before starting professional training at the Academy of Classical Ballet Nina Novak, taking classes with masters as Nina Novak, Rumen Rashev and Ruta Butviliene up to 2014. That year she attended the Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington, D.C. on full scholarship. There she was coached by Elena Tenchikova, Yuliya Rakova and Stalisnav Issaev. She graduated from the academy in 2017.

After graduation, she danced with Colorado Ballet, Denver, participating in Serenade for Strings in C, Drácula, The Nutcraker, Peter Pan, Swan Lake, Fired Bird, The Little Mermaid and The Wizard of Oz. A year later, she returned to Venezuela to work in the National Theater Teresa Carreño until 2019. From 2019 to 2021, she worked with Telón Arriba Company in Montevideo, Uruguay, dancing in many neoclassical productions such as Modo Tango, Bokeh and Ellas. In 2022, joined the National Ballet Sodre participating in Gisselle and Swan Lake. She joined Sofia Opera and Ballet in April 2023
