Alessandra Di Giorgio is a young dramatic soprano whose current and upcoming engagements include: Un Ballo in Maschera (Teatro Colón, Buenos Aires), Les Contes d’Hoffmann (Hamburgische Staatsoper), Manon Lescaut (Genoa, Trieste, Torre del Lago, Lucca, Ferrara, Pisa, Bucharest), Brünnhilde in Siegfried (N.C.P.A., China), Lady Macbeth (Aachen, Cottbus, Trapani), Tosca (Novosibirsk, Taormina, Sassari, Lucca), Il Tabarro (Giorgetta – Arena di Verona / Teatro Filarmonico, Taormina), Stiffelio (Arena di Verona / Teatro Filarmonico), Andrea Chénier (Turin), Madama Butterfly (Cagliari – with live national TV broadcast, Como, Montevideo…), La Forza del Destino (Palma de Mallorca), Adriana Lecouvreur (Catania), Aida (Arena di Verona, Palermo – Teatro Massimo, Taormina, Braunschweig, Split, Belgrade, Iani), La Gioconda (Catania), Desdemona in Verdi’s Otello (Catania), and Santuzza in Cavalleria Rusticana (Berliner Philharmonie – Brilliant Classics CD –, Taormina, Catania, Chieti…).
She has performed Verdi’s Requiem on numerous occasions, always to great critical and public acclaim (Freiburg, Aachen, Philharmonie de Paris, Versailles Festival, La Seine Musicale, Stadtcasino Basel, Brucknerhaus Linz).
After piano studies, she began vocal training at MUHO in Mannheim, Germany, later completing her studies in Italy. A winner of several competitions — including the Hariclea Darclée Gold Medal, the Vienna International NY Competition, and the Alcamo International Competition (3rd Prize and Special Prize) — she quickly embarked on an important international career, collaborating with conductors such as D. Renzetti, S. Ranzani, G. Bisanti, D. Jurowski, E. Mazzola, B. Venezi, R. Gianola, A. Pirolli, S. Zilias, and F. M. Carminati, among others.
