Alexandar Alexandrov


Alexandar Alexandrov was born in Sofia. He graduated from the State Choreography School in 1999 in the class of the premier dancer Biser Deyanov. After his graduation, he was handed out an award from the Nureyev Foundation and continued his development in the SBBS Theatrical Class in Zurich. There he worked with the world-known pedagogues Chris Jensen, Francois Petit, Alex Unsuliak. During the next season, he danced in the world-known JBF company (“The Young French Ballet”). He continued his career at the National Opera and Ballet Theatre, Ballet du Capitole – France, Ballet International – the USA, Boston Ballet – the USA.


Basilio from “Don Quixote”; The Prince from “The Nutcracker”; James from “La Sylphide”, Solor from “La Bayadère”; Siegfried from “Swan Lake”; Albert from “Giselle”, Mercutio from “Roméo et Juliette”; John from “Zorba the Greek”, Koschei – “The Firebird” and others.


  • 1997 – Winner of Bronze Medal at the Anastas Petrov Ballet Competition;

  • 1999 – Winner of Golden Medal at the Anastas Petrov Ballet Competition;

  • 2002 – Winner of Golden Medal at the XX Jubilee Varna Ballet Competition;

  • Laureate of the Golden Feather Award for exceptional contribution to ballet art.
