Celebrating the 22nd of September: the Republic of Bulgaria’s Independence Day, a special Gala concert will take place at the Erevan Armenian national opera and ballet theater which will unite the talents of Bulgaria and Armenia and will highlight the power of cultural exchange between the two friendly nations.
The event takes places with the support of MP Nikola Nikolov: emergency full-fledged ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria in the Republic of Armenia, and with the participation of maestro Plamen Kartaloff, director of the Sofia Opera and Ballet.
On stage, lead singers from the Sofia Opera and the Armenian national opera and ballet will present a specially chosen repertoire of famous arias, part of the world opera repertoire. Pieces by Giuseppe Verdi, Giacomo Puccini, Richard Wagner, Charles Gounod, George Bizet, Camille Saint-Saëns, Francesco, Cilea, Umberto Giordano and other great composers will be performed.
Starring: sopranos Gabriela Georgieva and Radostina Nikolaeva, tenor Martin Iliev, baritone Ventseslav Anastasov and bass Petar Puchkov. Among the Armenian singers are tenors Liparit Avetisyan and Hovhannes Ayvazyan, bass Hayk Tigranyan, sopranos Anna Ayvazyan, Siranush Gasparyan and Mary Movsisyan, mezzo-sopranos Kristine Saakyan and Varsenik Avanyan, baritones Gevorg Akopyan and Arnold Kocharyan.
The Bulgarian and Armenian lead singers will take turns on stage throughout the evening, turning the concert into a celebration of opera and a symbol of friendship and of the creative partnership between Bulgaria and Armenia.
