In January 2021 the incredible musical “Shrek” comes back at the Sofia Opera!

We shall present you one story, in which the good green Shrek finds himself in unusual situations and fights for the love of the delightful Fiona. Their company will keep all fairy tale characters, known from the Disney cartoons – Peter Pan, Lord Farquaad, Donkey, Bluebeard, Pinocchio, knights, elves, etc.

“Shrek” is a terrific production by the American stage director West Hyler to the music of Jeanine Tesori and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire.

There was once upon a time ...
…. In a distant swamp was living an odd green creature called Shrek, whose peace was broken suddenly by the inrush of boring fairy-tale characters. All of them were chased away from their kingdom by the evil Farquaad. Resolved to protect their home, as well as his own home, Shrek makes a deal with Farquaad – to go and find the beautiful princess Fiona and bring her to Farquaad, so that they could marry. But there is one deep and dark secret. What is it?
