Today, at the Sofia Opera, a press conference was held on the premiere of the ballet “Pride and Prejudice”. Present at the meeting in Club “Opera” were Marta Petkova: prima ballerina and artistic director of the Sofia Opera ballet; Leo Mujic: the production’s choreographer and director; Balint Rauscher: dramaturge; Velizar Genchev: deputy director on artistic matters as well as ballet artists Frederico Pinto, Katerina Petrova, Tsetso Ivanov, Simeon Atanasov, Polina Ivanova, Simeon Atanasov, Maria Yordanova, Debora Tosheva and Vera Aspridi.
At the press conference, the production’s artistic vision was presented as well as the work’s musical interpretation while Leo Mujic shared how he turned Jane Austen’s novel into a ballet production. Marta Petkova shared the entire ballet troupe’s joy and satisfaction from the opportunity to again work together with Leo Mujic and to have this production in their repertoire.
The media showed an active interest in the production’s scale, the scenographer’s decisions, the costumes, the musical picture by English composers and the length of preparations for the performance which is expected to turn into one of the notable cultural events of the season.
The performances of “Pride and Prejudice” will take place on the 21st, 22nd, 24th and 25th of March and have long since been sold out.
