I congratulate you on the opening of the “Opera at the Square” summer festival!
Opera is an artform with a centuries-old history. It combines music, literature and theater and creates unforgettable memories for viewers. Going through different eras: from Baroque to Classicism, Modernism and contemporary times, the art of opera has turned into a symbol of the boundless human imagination. As the British writer Robert Holman said: “A novel is more of a whisper while the stage… the stage is a cry.”
With arias, your choir, orchestra and masterful acting, you bring out the best of these many artistic genres on stage.
