His Excellency Nathaniel Copsey, ambassador of the UK in Bulgaria, made a special visit to the Sofia Opera regarding the upcoming premiere of the ballet “Pride and Prejudice” based on Jane Austen’s novel: one of the most famous British authors.
Before heading to the ballet hall, Mr. Copsey was greeted in the name of prof. Plamen Kartaloff and was invited to see the Sofia Opera stage. His Excellency was strongly impressed by its size and the curtains, the special ballet floor mounting and the space’s general organization. Then, Mr. Copsey was escorted to the Chamber Hall and saw where our performances for children take place.
His Excellency stepped into the Ballet Hall full of excitement and respect for our ballet troupe. He met Marta Petkova: prima ballerina and artistic director of the Sofia Opera ballet, Leo Mujic: choreographer of the “Pride and Prejudice” ballet and watched part of the rehearsal for the upcoming premiere with great interest.
Marta Petkova thanked ambassador Copsey for the hospitality the UK embassy showed the Sofia Opera ballet troupe during the taking of a special photoshoot at the ambassador’s residence regarding the first performance of the ballet “Pride and Prejudice” in Bulgaria.
His Excellency Nathaniel Copsey will be present at the premiere of “Pride and Prejudice” on the 21st of March.
