After the impressive performance on the 15th of January, the second evening of Giuseppe Verdi’s “Fastaff” solidified the Sofia Opera’s high artistic level.
Under Nikola Paskovski’s conductorship, the orchestra and lead singers presented Verdi’s final masterpiece with finesse and humor; it was filled with life, musical exquisiteness and theatrical energy.
The audience at the Big hall at 1 “Vrabcha” str. didn’t hide its awe: the opera’s finale was met with long applause and “Bravo!” shouts and the artists did multiple encores.
Kiril Manolov was again brilliant in the role of sir John Falstaff, accompanied by a strong ensemble including Mariana Pencheva, Gabriela Georgieva, Ventseslav Anastasov, Maria Radoeva, Emil Pavlov, Silvia Teneva, Krasimir Dinev, Nikolai Pavlov, Nikolai Voinov and other accomplished lead singers.
The next performances of “Falstaff” will take place on the 17th and 18th of January.
