The world harp congress is the most prestigious event in the world of harp players which gathers harpists from all over the world. Part of them have been selected to perform at the venue after an extremely stern selection and a contest, judged by world-famous harp professors, while other experts attend in order to share the inspiration, knowledge and magic of this unique musical holiday.
This year, the congress took place in Toronto, Canada, from the 28th of July till the 3rd of August. Several days before Victoria Markova’s departure, she had to undergo an urgent appendix removal surgery. We wholeheartedly thank doctor Martin Nikolov and the entire team at the third Surgery department at UMBALSM “Pirogov” for the professionalism, care and dedication thanks to which Viktoria made a fast recovery and managed to travel to Toronto in order to take part in the world harp congress.

Back in 2019, when Viktoria Markova was only fourteen years old, she was chosen to take part in this prestigious international event: a huge recognition of her talent, persistent work and dedication. Being approve to take part in the World harp congress program is an honor achieved after an extremely stern selection and a contest, judged by world-famous harp professors.
Since then, in 2021, 2022, 2024, 2025 and 2026 (online and live), Victoria has been a permanent participant in the World harp congress, taking part in recitals, concerts and masterclasses among which those of Alexandar Boldachov and prof. Nancy Allen (The Julliard School), the Youth Focus and Spectrum programs while worthily representing Bulgaria on the world harp stage.
Throughout the years, Victoria has proven her exceptional talent by winning many prestigious national and international awards.
Victoria Markova is the only Bulgarian harpist who has been approved and officially invited to take part in the World harp congress program, in the span of multiple editions of the event: an acknowledgment of her high professionalism, artistry and consistency.
