On 4 and 20 February the admirers of operatic art will have the chance to see the new interpretation of Borodin’s classical opera “Prince Igor”, which has been always welcomed with exceptionally great interest by the audience.

The spectacle is dedicated to the 110th Anniversary of Maestro Atanas Margaritov, who was entire 11 years Chief conductor of the Sofia Opera (1964 – 1975).

Stage director of the production is Plamen Kartaloff.
Conductor of “Prince Igor” is Igor Bogdanov.
Set designer is Boris Stoynov, and Costume designer – Svetla Kalaydzhieva. Choreographer is Asen Gavrilov. Chorus master is Violeta Dimitrova.

For the first time in this version “Prince Igor” was presented in the open air with 6 spectacles on Al. Battenberg Square in 1999. Maestro Kartaloff staged the opera at the Sofia Opera in 2009. The production was presented also in Japan in 2015 and had great success in Tokyo and Nagoya. It was presented also at the most prestigious festival in Spain – Santander, where it had great success, and at the well-known festival in Bydgoszcz, Poland, too.
