Thousand students from Pernik watched “Les Misérables” at the Sofia Opera

On 10 January 2020, thousand students from Pernik arrived in Sofia with twenty buses to see the well-known musical “Les Misérables”, which was performed at 11:00 h at the Sofia Opera and Ballet.

With the students was Stefan Krastev, Deputy Mayor of Pernik. Before the spectacle he thanked from the stage of the theatre the Director Plamen Kartaloff for the invitation and the welcoming, the artists and the entire team, taking part in the famous musical.

Svetoslav Lazarov, conductor of the spectacle, greeted the young audience, students from the primary schools “Georgi Sava Rakovski”, “Krakra Pernishki”, “Aleko Konstantinov”, “Saints Cyril and Methodius”, from the professional high schools “St. Ivan Rilski”, “Hristo Botev”, “Arch. Yordan Milanov”, “Marie Curie”, from the profiled high schools “Hristo Smirnenski” and “Simeon Radev”, from the sport school “Olimpiets” and others.

Present were also students from the Pernik villages Yardzhilovtsi, Dragichevo, Rudartsi, Kladnitsa and others.

“The most popular musical in the world – “Les Misérables”, triumphed also in the souls of the children from Pernik”, declared Academician Plamen Kartaloff. He shared that for him this is the greatest reward – to see joy and gratitude in the eyes of so many children.

After the spectacle the children climbed on the stage and got acquainted with the actors Vladimir Mihaylov, Orlin Pavlov, Paolina Maleshkova, Veniamin Dimitrov, the little Andzhelina Dencheva and Anton-Mario Petrov, who were Gavroche and Cosette, and thanked them for the wonderful performance.

The management of our first theatre expressed gratitude to Krasimir Dimitrov, Emergency Help and Prevention Department to Sofia Municipality, for the smooth move of the thousand students.
