The great conductor Oliver von Dohnányi returns to the Sofia Opera to conduct two performances of “Don Carlo”.
Maestro Oliver von Dohnányi is a student of the famous Czech conductor Václav Neumann and debuted in 1979 with the Slovakian radio symphonic orchestra. He was then invited for the position of music director of the Slovakian national opera in Bratislava and later: at the National opera theater in Prague. He works with many Czech and Slovakian orchestras and opera theaters as well as on stages in Hungary, Italy, the UK, Switzerland, Japan and Germany.
Oliver von Dohnányi is part of the famous Hungarian family of Von Dohnányi which has produced many politicians and musicians.
