Independence day in Armenia: lead singers from the Sofia and Erevan operas took part in the “Opera and Diplomacy” concert

The day of Bulgarian independence was also celebrated in Armenia. The “Opera and Diplomacy” concert brought together the leading soloists of the Sofia and Erevan operas.

The opera gala was set by initiative of the Bulgarian ambassador Nikola Nikolov. The Sofia Opera was represented by its leading soloists Radostina Nikolaeva, Gabriela Georgieva, Martin Iliev, Ventseslav Anastasov and Petar Buchkov who performed arias from operas by Verdi, Puccini and Giordano. The concert was a demonstration of the good diplomatic relations between the two countries.

An hour before the concert, the directors of the two theaters: prof. Plamen Kartaloff and Karen Durgaryan, signed a memorandum of cooperation and artists exchange for the upcoming season. The Sofia Opera received an invitation to tour in Erevan.
