On the 17th and 24th of April and on the 1st of May, the opera “Tannhäuser” by Richard Wagner will air on BNT1, after the late-night news.
This documentary recording is of the opera’s premiere which took place on the 26th of June, 2025, during the Sofia Opera’s traditional Wagner festival.
Conductor: Konstantin Trinks. Director’s concept: Plamen Kartaloff who worked together with scenographer Sven Jonke. Costumes by Hristiana Mihaleva-Zorbalieva; choir conductor: Violeta Dimitrova; artistic lighting: Andrei Haidinyak; dynamics: Masha Ilieva; assistant-director: Yuliya Krasteva; vocal preparation: Velizar Genchev.
Starring: Martin Iliev as “Tannhäuser”; Petar Buchkov as Hermann, landgrave of Thuringia; Alma-Lisa Bandalovska as Elizabeth; Gabriela Georgieva as Venus; Atanas Mladenov as Wolfram von Eschenbach; Emil Pavlov as Water von der Vogelweide; Angel Antonov as Heinrich der Schreiber; Stefan Vladimirov as Bitterolf; Angel Hristov as Reinmar von Zweter; Maria Pavlova as the Shephard.
With the participation of the Sofia Opera and Ballet orchestra, choir and ballet.
