We welcome Aris Argiris who will perform the role of Wotan in the opera “Die Walküre” on the 27th of May, part of the “Der Ring des Nibelungen” tetralogy by Richard Wagner. 
This year, the traditional Sofia Opera Wagner festival opens on the 26th of May and includes performances of “Lohengrin” on the 12th of June and “Tannhäuser” on the 14th of June in addition to the four “Der Ring” operas.
Aris Argiris is a famous Greek opera singer with an international career as well as a respected pedagogue in recent years. Besides his bright interpretations of roles in operas by Verdi, Puccini, Rossini, Donizetti, Mozart etc., Argiris is sought after for Richard Wagner productions: he has portrayed Donner in “Das Rheingold”, Wotan in “Das Rheingold” and in “Die Walküre” as well as the Wanderer in “Siegfried”. 
At the Sofia Opera, he has already performed the role of Giorgio Germont in “La Traviata” by Verdi. He was Wotan in “Die Walküre” in 2023 as well as during the Sofia Opera’s tour in Füssen, Germany.
