THE RENOWNED BARITONE WILL FINISH “TUTTO VERDI” WITH MORE RARELY PERFORMED TITLES

On his birthday the baritone Vladimir Stoyanov had not much time for celebrating. The previous evening with an enormous success the audience at Sofia Opera and Ballet heard him as Nabucco in Verdi’s work of the same name, but forthcoming is the next challenge – his gala-concert on 30 March. It is the final one of the three spectacles “Tutto Verdi”, in which have the chance to hear him the opera lovers in Sofia. The triumph in “Nabucco” the famous baritone generalized with his inherent modesty: “The important is someone of the artists to “give the tone”, in order to warm up the others and to make a good spectacle.” He doesn’t hide that he himself was very satisfied with the final result in the concert version, in which as Zaccaria his partners were the world-known bass Carlo Colombara and Baysgalam Dashnyam was Abigaille.

For his upcoming gala-concert Vladimir Stoyanov will present a rich program of works by Verdi, a part of which will be among the rarely performed ones. “I would like to sing some things which are not so popular. This was the leading principle when I made the program.”

The Sofia audience will have the chance to enjoy pearls of the baritone repertoire as Don Carlo di Vargas from “La forza del destino” and Macbeth from the work of the same name by Verdi, as well as Renato from “Un ballo in maschera”. The famous performer offers also the aria of Miller from “Luisa Miller”, scene and aria of Francesco from “I masnadieri”. The audience will remind itself also scene and aria by Giorgio Germont from “La Traviata”, in which Vladimir Stoyanov was guest-performer at Sofia Opera and Ballet on 16 March.

“The recitals are not a frequent event and we rarely see singers, who make their own concerts, especially in Bulgaria. That is why we wanted to break this scheme, especially having in mind that the baritone repertoire is a much greater challenge than the tenor parts, which enjoy an enormous popularity. I expect the gala-concert, which I have prepared for 30 March, to have success and the audience to remain satisfied”, shared Stoyanov two days before the event, with which will finish the cycle “Tutto Verdi” with his participation.
