The Bulgarian National Radio – The interest of the foreign tourists in opera and ballet in our country is getting stronger

The interest of the foreign tourists in visiting of opera and ballet in Bulgaria is getting stronger. This became clear after the meeting of the provisional Minister of Tourism Stela Baltova with the Director of the Sofia Opera and Ballet Academician Plamen Kartaloff.

Bulgarian tour operators work actively for attracting of tourists with purpose opera tourism, which combines itself with visits of cultural and historical sights. After data of the Sofia Opera and Ballet, foreigners from over 15 countries have already visited the productions in Sofia. Hristina Staneva, Deputy-Director of the Opera, declared:

Especially for the Wagner productions and the Wagner Festival, we had spectators from 14 countries – Germany, the USA, Netherlands, Italy, Denmark, South Africa, China, Japan and others. And this is the idea of Academician Kartaloff – the Sofia Opera to work for the opera tourism in Bulgaria.

Minister Baltova and Academician Plamen Kartaloff have set as priority the readiness of the Sofia Opera and Ballet for earlier announcement of the calendar for the spectacles, so that the product could be spread by the tour operators outside of our country. It is foreseen also a deepening of the collaboration between both institutions with purpose advertisement of Bulgaria.
