THE NEW PRINCE IGOR AT THE SOFIA OPERA AND BALLET

Debut of Vesselin Mihaylov in the role of Prince Igor on 18.03.2017 19:00 h at the Sofia Opera and Ballet.

Vesselin Mihaylov was born in Burgas, Bulgaria. He graduated the National Academy of Music, Sofia with Classical Singing, Master’s Program, under the guidance of Prof. Maria Belcheva.

He was a scholarship student of the Bulgarian Talent Gallery, the Boris Christoff Foundation and the Raina Kabaivanska Foundation. He attended a course at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Rome, with the support of the Boris Christoff Foundation. He took part in the master class of Raina Kabaivanska in Modena, Italy.

His repertoire includes the roles of Escamillo in “Carmen” and Zurga in “Les pêcheurs de perles” by Bizet; Abimélech in “Samson et Dalila” by Saint-Saëns (directed by Hugo de Ana); Paris in “Romeo and Juliette” by Gounod; Marcello in “La bohème” and Marco in “Gianni Schicchi” by Puccini; Alfio in “Cavalleria Rusticana” by Mascagni; Amonasro in “Aida” by Verdi; Igor in “Prince Igor” by Borodin; Onegin in “Eugene Onegin” by Tchaikovsky; Shchelkalov in “Boris Godunov” by Mussorgsky and others.

He took part in spectacles and concerts of the Sofia Opera and Ballet, in the Bulgaria Hall, in the Bulgarian Cultural Centres in Budapest, Bratislava, Vienna and Prague. He has sung also in Germany and Switzerland.
