Hugo de Ana
This opera is defined as an apotheosis of the beautiful singing and the unusual combination of lyrics and tragic – from the heavenly prayer “Casta Diva” to the final tercet of Act I. “All passions are shaped out of the singing without being harmed by the imposing character of the opera. I am delighted by the melodic invention around the real passions. The score, composed by a genius, speaks with the heart” – wrote Richard Wagner.
In the role of Norma the audience will meet the talent of the stars of the Sofia Opera like the sopranos Radostina Nikolaeva, Gabriela Georgieva, Tsvetana Bandalovska and the guest-performing world-known soprano from Italy Fiorenza Cedolins. As Adalgisa will appear the mezzo-sopranos Daniela Dyakova, Olga Mihaylova-Dinova and the eminent Oana Andra from Romania. As Polione partners of Norma will be our leading tenors Martin Iliev and Daniel Damyanov. In the role of the Chief of the Druids will incarnate the basses Yulian Konstantinov, Petar Buchkov and Svetozar Rangelov.
