The prima ballerina Vesa Tonova and the prima ballet dancer Alexander Alexandrov were given the "Golden Feather" Award

For a 19th year in succession Classic FM Radio and gallery "Makta"gave the prestigious "Golden Feather" Awards for exceptional contribution to the Bulgarian culture and art. The insignia of honour on the occasion of 24 May were awarded to 24 representatives of Bulgarian culture and art at an official ceremony on 22 May at 11.30 h in the concert hall of the National School of Music "Lyubomir Pipkov". The awards are in the form of brooch made of 24-carat gold.

Among the awarded ones this year are the premier-soloists of Sofia Opera and ballet: Vesa Tonova and Alexander Alexandrov.

The "Golden Feather" Award was given to them by the Director of the ballet in the Opera – Sara-Nora Krysteva, who was the last year’s bearer of the prize.

The event is a part of the program of the European Music Festival, organised with the cooperation of the Ministry of Culture and Sofia Municipality in support of the candidature of Sofia and the South-West region for European Capital of Culture 2019.
