“I would say I’m an expert on unknown works by Donizetti, Rossini and Bellini… the first opera where Donizetti explores the idea of madness on stage is “Emilia di Liverpool”. When I was choosing the theme for my new album, I decided to take a look at and tell the story of these heroines. Not all of them are mad; some suffer from heavy depression, others: from somnambulism… I got interested in all this and I wanted to show these different scenes at Italian operas.
🌟 Jessica Pratt returns to the Sofia Opera for a grand bel canto opera gala titled “Delirium”. Together with the Sofia Opera orchestra and under the directorship of Daniel Oren, she will perform some of the most thrilling scenes from operas by Vincenzo Bellini and Gaetano Donizetti.
