The season of 24/25 also presents no less than 3 productions of Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg for Vigilius. First, he will return to The Royal Danish Opera. The amazing maestro Axel Kober will be leading the almost entirely Danish cast of Meistersinger in the Laurent Pelly-coproduction with Teatro Real in Madrid. In March 2025 Deutsche Oper Berlin has invited him back as Stolzing for a revival of the Wieler/Viebrock/Morabito production of Meistersinger, and finally the third production of Meistersinger this season will be the Michael Schulz production as part of the prestigious Wagner Festival in Müpa, Budapest.

Danish tenor Magnus Vigilius graduated with a major in vocal studies and drama from the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen.

In 2014, after a decade of performing minor and leading roles in contemporary opera productions in Scandinavia and England, Vigilius participated in the "Lauritz Melchior International Singing Competition" in Aalborg, where he won 2nd prize and the Aalborg Symphony Orchestra's prize. This launched an international career in the German dramatic repertoire.
After a few years of intense vocal studies with Elena and Torsten Kerl, he made his Wagner-debut in 2016 as Erik in "The Flying Dutchman" at Opera på Skäret.

In 2017, he had his breakthrough in Denmark as a Wagner tenor, when he sang Siegmund, “Die Walküre" for Den Ny Opera in Esbjerg. A performance which secured him the prestigious Reumert-prize as Singer of the Year, and subsequent invitations to sing the same role at Oper Kiel and Leipzig Oper in Germany, Teatro di San Carlo in Naples, the National Opera in Helsinki, and Oper Zürich.

Since then, the calendar has been filled with Wagner roles. In 2019, Vigilius had a successful Lohengrin debut at the National Opera in Prague; he sang the same role in an award-winning production at the Meininger Staatsoper in 2022 and in Lübeck in February 2023. The season 2021/2022 offered no fewer than four Wagner debut-roles; first Walther von der Vogelweide, “Tannhäuser” at the Bayreuther Festspiele, then Parsifal at the Rued Langgaard festival in Ribe, Walther von Stolzing, “Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg” at Oper Leipzig as part of the awardwinning festival “Wagner 22” and last but not least not least, the title role in "Siegfried" in EsbjergRingen at Den Ny Opera.

In addition to the German repertoire, Vigilius also excels in the Italian, i.a. as Cavaradossi, "Tosca", which he has sung both at the Royal Opera in Stockholm and Malmö Opera, and in the Czech repertoire, especially in operas by Leoš Janáček. Roles such as Števa, "Jenůfa", Janik, "Zápisník Zmizelého" and both Tichon and Boris in "Kát'a Kabanová" he has performed with great success on stages all over Europe. Most recently at Semperoper Dresden in the spring of 2024. In 2023 he had his role debut as Albert Gregor “Věc Makropulos” at the Malmö Opera, a role he also performed at Concertgebouw in Amsterdam in March 2024 under the baton of maestra Karina Canellakis
