CARRERAS INCLUDED TWO BULGARIANS IN HIS CONCERT – "ACTUALNO"

The tenor Rosen Nenchev and the soprano Ilina Mihaylova will take part in José Carreras’ upcoming grandiose concert in Arena Armeec Hall on 11 May 2019. The Spanish opera legend has personally chosen the talented Bulgarian artists to become part of his last concert for Bulgaria and the Balkan Peninsula.

Nenchev, soloist of Sofia Opera and Ballet, is student and favourite of Carreras, who for the next time in succession was the most brilliantly presenting himself in the annual master class of the Maestro and from the ten participants in its closing concert, which took place several days ago in Pesaro, Italy (21-26 January).

For the first time Nenchev visited the exclusive singing school in 2017, when, impressed by the talent and the presence of our national tenor, Carreras acknowledged him as his favourite and invited him to take part in 2018 too. After Nenchev have proven his indisputable talent, Maestro Carreras decided that namely he is most-appropriate to stand beside him on the stage of Arena Armeec Hall in Sofia on 11 May.

Long is the list of Nenchev’s successes. From 2008 to 2010 he was studying at the G. Marziali Academy of Music in Milan with Maestro Vittorio Terranova. The tenor was awarded a scholarship by the Bulgarian Ministry of Culture and specialized at the Boris Christoff Cultural Institute in Rome in 2016. He was finalist of the Magda Olivero International Competition in Milan. Besides in Carreras’s two prestigious master classes, Rosen Nenchev took place also in the master classes with Evgenia Dundekova, Giuseppe Sabatini, Anna Vandi. He studied classical singing with Maestro Franco Frederici and Maestro Georgi Deliganov. The beginning of Nenchev’s career started at the Bergamo Summer Opera Festival in 2011 with “La traviata”, then followed several seasons, in which he was soloist of Teatro San Babila – the small La scala. There he took part in productions of “La traviata”, “Nabucco”, “Madama Butterfly”, “Lucia di Lammermoor”. Now his vocal pedagogue and mentor is the world-known Bulgarian soprano Krassimira Stoyanova. Since 2016 Nenchev has been soloist of Sofia Opera and Ballet.

These days, after the end of the classes in Pesaro became clear that together with Carreras in Arena Armeec, besides Rosen Nenchev, will appear the residing in Valencia opera prima Ilina Mihaylova, performing at the most prestigious opera theatres in Milan, Bergamo, Brescia, Cremona and Pavia. Besides the national Pancho Vladigerov Academy of Music, the soprano graduated also from the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan in the opera singing class of Wilma Borelli. She took place in the master classes of Giacomo Aragall and Ernesto Palacio.

At the gala spectacle in Sofia, side by side, Carreras and Rosen Nenchev will perform in duet the eternal opera classics “Non ti scordar di me”, “Parla mi d’amore Mariu”, and the Bulgarian talent will present solo performances of “O sole mio”, “Funiculi funicula” and others. Special surprise for the audience will be a duet of the great Carreras and the soprano. A real feast for the admirers of the opera will be “Il Brindisi” from the opera “La traviata”, which Carreras will perform as a trio with Nenchev and Mihaylova.
