Rosen Nenchev

Biography

Rosen Nenchev is one of José Carreras' favourite students and has been selected to participate in his masterclasses in 2017, 2018 and 2019 at the Gioachino Rossini Conservatoire in Pesaro.

In the same year he was invited by Maestro Carreras to partner him in concerts at Sofia's Arena Armeec Hall (12,000 spectators) and Athens' O.A.K.A Arena (20,000 spectators). Nenchev graduated with a degree in classical singing from the Pancho Vladigerov National Academy of Music in 2008.

From 2009 to 2011 he did postgraduate studies at the Gaetano Marziali Academy in Milan under Maestro Vittorio Terranova.

He won a scholarship from the Ministry of Culture to study at the Boris Christoff Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Rome in 2016.

Rosen Nenchev completed master classes with Evgenia Dundekova, Giuseppe Sabatini, Anna Vandi and Kaludi Kaludov.

He studied classical singing with Franco Federici, Georgi Deliganev and Ventsislav Anastasov.

Today his teacher and mentor is the world-famous Bulgarian soprano Krassimira Stoyanova.

Rosen Nenchev made his debut on the opera stage in 2011 at the Bergamo Summer Opera Festival in Piazza Vecchia in the role of Gaston from “La Traviata”.

From 2011 to 2013 he was an artist of Teatro San Babila in Milan, also known as La Piccola Scala, where he performed in the productions of “Nabucco” – Ismael, “Lucia di Lammermoor” – Arturo, “Madama Butterfly” – Goro.

In 2013, he made his debut in “La Traviata” as Alfred Germont at Teatro Gavazzeni Bergamo.

Nenchev made his debut at the Sofia Opera and Ballet in 2016 in the role of Lensky – “Eugene Onegin”, for which he prepared with world-renowned Russian music specialist Larisa Gergieva.

He also performed as Ismael (“Nabucco”) in the anniversary performances – “125 Years of Sofia Opera and Ballet” at Alexander Nevsky Square and at the summer festival “Opera of the Peaks” – in the town of Belogradchik.

In 2018 Rosen Nenchev was appointed soloist of the Sofia Opera and Ballet.

He participates in “La Traviata” as Alfred Germont and in the tour of our National Theatre on the stage of the Bolshoi Opera with the production “Yana’s Nine Brothers” in 2019.

He made his debut in the musical genre in the role of Marius “Les Misérables” and 2023 and “Mamma Mia” as Sam Carmichael.

Since 2020, he has participated in the international project “Opera d’Amore”, where he has partnered again with José Carreras, Maria Ghulegina, Marco Berti and others with concerts in Sofia's Arena Armeec, Kuwait, Antwerp, Ghent, Rotterdam, Liege and Brussels.

In 2016 she was one of the ten finalists of the Magda Olivero Opera Competition – Milan.

Rosen Nenchev graduated from Sofia Mathematical High School, University of National and World Economy with a degree in Finance and holds an MBA from City University of Seattel with a degree in Finance.
