Nikola Hadjitanev

Biography

Nikola Hadjitanev was born in Sofia. He graduated from the National School of Dance Art in the class of Petar Koldamov in 2006. Since 2006 he joined the troupe of the Sofia Opera and Ballet as soloist ballet dancer, and since 2012 he has been premier ballet dancer.

Awards:

  • Golden Feather Award of the audience of Classic FM Radio for contribution to the Bulgarian culture 2017;
  • Award for Partner at the ΧΧVI Varna International Ballet Competition, 2014;
  • Crystal Lyre Award 2010 of the Union of Bulgarian Musicians and Dancers in category “Dance Art”;
  • Grand Prix of the Anastas Petrov National Ballet Competition, 2010, Dobrich, Bulgaria;
  • First Prize for classic dance and Second prize for modern dance at the Sicilia Barocca International Ballet Competition for 2010, Modica, Italy;
  • Finalist at the ΧΧΙΙ Varna International Ballet Competition, 2006, Bulgaria;
  • First Prize at the Anastas Petrov National Ballet Competition, 2004, Dobrich, Bulgaria;
  • First Prize for duet dance at the International Festival of Arts, 2002, Fivizzano, Italy;
  • Diploma for contribution to the Bulgarian culture on the occasion of 24 May by the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria for 2010;
  • Annual scholarship for high artistic achievements in the dance art of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria, 2005-2006;
  • Annual scholarship for high artistic achievements in the dance art of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria, 2004-2005;
  • Annual scholarship for high achievements in the ballet dance to the name of Anastas Petrov, 2002-2003;
  • Distinction, medal and plaquette with the title Academy “The Future of Bulgaria” for achievements in the field of dance art by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria, 2006;
  • Diploma for high artistic achievements on the occasion of 24 May by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria, 2006;
  • Diploma for high artistic achievements in honour of 24 May by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria, 2005;
  • Nomination by the Union of Bulgarian Musicians and Dancers for the Chrystal Lyre Award 2009 for the role of Franz in the ballet “Coppélia”, of John from the ballet “Zorba the Greek” and of James from the ballet “La Sylphide” on the stage of the National Opera and Ballet in season 2008/2009;
  • Nomination by the Union of Bulgarian Musicians and Dancers for the Crystal Lyre Award for debut.


Repertoire:

He performs the premier roles in the spectacles: “Swan Lake”, “Don Quixote”, “The Nutcracker”, “Zorba the Greek”, “Coppélia”, “La Sylphide”, “Giselle”, “Romeo and Juliet”, “Le Sacre du Printemps”, “Scheherazade”, “The Goat Horn”, “The Fire Dancer”, “Rhapsody Vardar”, “The Sleeping Beauty”, “La Dame aux Camélias” and others.

He took part in performances and gala spectacles in Russia, Italy, Greece, Germany, the USA, Turkey, Croatia, etc.

He participated in the Stars of the World Ballet Festival, Kremlin (Moscow), Russia; in the Stars of the World Ballet Festival, Kazan, Russia; in the Stars of the World Ballet Festival, Saratov, Russia.

He was guest-soloist at the Vilnius Opera in Vilnius, Lithuania; Opera House in Maribor, Slovenia; Theatre for Opera and Ballet in Chelyabinsk, Russia.
