The tenor Reinaldo Droz will take part in the comedy “Don Pasquale” on the stage of the Sofia Opera

The tenor  Reinaldo Droz will take part in Gaetano Donizetti’s sparkling with laughter comedy “Don Pasquale” on 13 April at 19:00 h at the Sofia Opera. He will impersonate the role of Ernesto. Droz has a rich artistic biography. He was born in Venezuela. He studied at the Simon Bolivar Academy in Caracas. He took part in many concerts in his country: “Serata Italiana”, “Grandes Canciones del Mundo”, “El Immigrante”. In 2015 he made his official debut during the Week of Italian Culture in Caracas, organized by the Italian Cultural Institute. At the invitation of the Italian Cultural Institute, he gave concerts in Valencia and took part in other events in honour of the 70th Anniversary of the Republic. In the same period, he took part in a tour in Columbia and Florida. His dream to study with Raina Kabaivanska led him in her Master class at the New Bulgarian University, where he was awarded a scholarship for education at the Vecchi-Tonelli Music Institute in Modena, Italy. In October 2018, he was among the main participants at Teatro Comunale Luciano Pavarotti in Modena at the concert, dedicated to Luciano Pavarotti and took part in concerts in different cities in Italy. In 2019, he debuted in Donizetti’s opera “Betly” in Switzerland, produced in concert performance also in Modena with the Bruno Bartoletti Orchestra. In September 2019,  Reinaldo Droz was soloist in the Italian premiere of Ruggero Leoncavallo’s “Requiem”.

The opera was performed for the first time in 1843 at the Italian Theatre in Paris, and the premiere in Bulgaria was in 1932 with conductor Asen Naydenov and stage director Hristo Popov.

From then on, “Don Pasquale” has been a comedy, which amuses and carries cheerful mood. The opera exposes through laughter the absurd, consisting in the conflict between the young society and the society of the old.
