In the Tsari Mali Grad Fortress started the first Summer Portal of the Two Worlds Festival. The beginning was set at 19:00 h with the production "Yana’s Nine Brothers" by Lyubomir Pipkov.
The action of the opera takes place on the hills near Samokov more than 600 years ago and not by chance namely this staging was chosen for the beginning of the summer festival.

After Acad. Plamen Kartaloff’s words, this is a Rila Mountain work of art and its place of action is exactly there, in the Samokov woods, and the spectators will have the chance to immerse themselves into it even better.
Acad. Plamen Kartaloff – Director of the Sofia Opera and Ballet: The messages, which carries in these very hard days of hesitation, of separation, of this tearing off of the generations, of this escape from the country, art is the only thing, which will bring back the optimism of the Bulgarian to the system of values and the identity and the Sofia Opera gives a part of itself.
In the next days here will sound also the opera “Carmen” by Georges Bizet, the ballet “Zorba the Greek” – to the music of Mikis Theodorakis, “Carmina Burana” to the music of Carl Orff, as well as the musical “Mаmmа Miа!” with the songs of ABBA.
The end of the summer festival will be on 7 September namely with it.
