For the first time the Sofia Opera will be one of the host cities of the preliminary rounds of the Voci Verdiane Grand Opera Competition together with Parma, Milan, Vienna, Palermo, Valencia, Buenos Aires and Batumi.
The 59th edition of the Voci Verdiane will take place at Teatro Verdi in Busseto, Italy from 8 to 15 September. The forum includes 3 tours, with the final gala concert of the winners to be held at Giuseppe Verdi's birthplace in Le Roncole.
The preliminary tour in Sofia will take place on 12 and 13 June at 11 h in the Ceremonial Hall of the Sofia Opera. The jury will include Matteo Pais, Artistic Coordinator of the Arturo Toscanini Foundation, Acad. Plamen Kartaloff, director and Director of the Sofia Opera and the world-famous bass Orlin Anastassov. The competition is open to singers aged 18 to 38.
