Biography

Maestro Yordan Kamdzhalov will ignite an unquenchable flame in the heart of everyone in the hall, in an inimitable way directing our thoughts towards the triumph of truth, freedom, love and peace. As always, his most powerful weapon to this end will be music.

Yordan Kamdzhalov studied conducting at the Prof. Pancho Vladigerov National Academy of Music, Sofia under prof. Vassil Kazandjiev and at the Hans Eisler Academy of Music, Berlin, as well as in the master classes of conductors of world renown. He is a laureate of the prestigious Jorma Panula (2009) and Gustav Mahler (2010) conducting competitions and has won numerous international awards. In 2014, NASA and the International Center for Astronomy named the asteroid 52292 after him, stating that "he connects the world of music with the fascination of the universe." In 2015, Yordan Kamdzhalov took over as Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the new Genesis Orchestra, a symphony orchestra that brings together proven professionals from across the country, Europe and around the world.
