Biography
Tsvetan Tsvetkov graduated from the Bulgarian State Conservatory in the class of prof. Lilyana Zhablenska. Even before his graduation in the 4th year, he was accepted as a soloist at the State Musical Theatre "Stefan Makedonski", where he successfully recreated more than 60 roles in popular classical operettas. In 1989 he was invited to join the troupe of the Sofia Opera as a soloist after his brilliant performance as Don Alvaro in Verdi's opera “La forza del destino”. With this spectacle the theatre toured to Thessaloniki, Greece at the Dimitria Festival.
Since then, he has created a repertoire of central tenor roles in works by Verdi, Donizetti, Puccini, Mozart, Rossini, Haydn, Beethoven, Stravinsky, Rachmaninov, Strauss, Halévy and a number of Bulgarian composers.
His tours in spectacles on opera stages and festivals both at home and abroad have been highly appreciated by audience and media.
