Simon Bennison
Lighting Designer

Simon works in dance, theatre and opera worldwide and was Lighting Associate for the Royal Opera House.

Lighting for opera includes Dido & Aeneas (Theatre Royal Bath), Swanhunter (Opera North), Rita and The Bear (Royal Opera House), Carmen (English Touring Opera).

Dance includes A Diamond Celebration, Anemoi, Scherzo, The Illustrated Farewell, Morgen, Tarantella, Ballo della Regina, The Lesson, Renard, Les Lutins, Consolations & Liebestraum and Summertime amongst others (The Royal Ballet), Nureyev Legend & Legacy (Theatre Royal Drury Lane), Pilgrim for The Dante Project (The Royal Ballet, Paris, Copenhagen), Ondine (Bolshoi), Romeo and Juliet (Royal Ballet of Flanders & Ekaterinburg Ballet), Le Baiser de la Fée (Perm Ballet & Scottish Ballet).

He has also worked for English National Ballet, George Piper Dances and Ballet Nacional d’España, and with the choreographers Wayne McGregor, Cathy Marston, Viacheslav Samodurov, Shobana Jeyasingh, Javier de Frutos, Liz Lea, Kim Brandstrup, Mats Ek, Didy Veldman, Lica Silvestrini, Ben Wright, Lisa Torun and Kenneth Tharp amongst others.

Theatre and concert include Prometheus Poem of Fire (Royal Festival Hall, Philharmonia Orchestra), The Realistic Joneses, How it Is Parts 1 and 2, First Love, The End, The Beckett Trilogy, Here All Night (Gare St Lazare), Happy Days, Disgraced (Norwegian National Theatre), The Lady from the Sea, Dead Dogs and Ivy & Joan (The Coronet).
