Biography

“A brilliant virtuoso”, this is how Karl Gottwald of the “Süddeutsche Zeitung” magazine defines the young opera singer and violinist RALITSA BOGDANOVA who began playing the violin at six years old.

The music critic Stefan Herbert Fuchs added:

“This Bulgarian soprano needs not fear being compared to the best in her voice range. Ralitsa Bogdanova performed the role of Violetta from the opera “La Traviata” with a rich timbre. Her coloratura, dramatic outbursts and lyric expressions are of very high class. She convincingly portrayed the gentle, self-sacrificial Violetta: both vocally and dramatically. Ralitsa Bogdanova has mastery over the technical bel canto register and captivates with her soft and warm voice.”

In 2020, Bogdanova received her first opera singing lesson from the prima Alexandrina Pendachanska and discovered her next musical calling. Her opera debut came in 2024, with the main role in the opera “The Little Prince” on the stages of Teatro “Reggio di Parma” and Teatro “Valli” in Reggio Emilia, Italy. Among the roles on her repertoire stand out those of Violetta Valery from the opera “La Traviata”, Donna Elvira and Donna Anna from the opera “Don Giovanni”, Micaela from the opera Carmen, Pamina in “The Magic Flute” and Liu in “Turandot”, performed on the stage of Teatro Comunale di Todi, the Munich Chamber Opera and the Munich Cuvilliés Theatre.

Ralitsa Bogdanova finished her violinist education in prof. Linus Rott’s class and her opera singing education: in Alexia Voulgaridou’s class at the Music and Stage Arts University in Munich, Germany. Later, she continued her academic path as a postgraduate at the “Franz List” Music University in Weimar, under prof. Michael Klapper’s tutelage. Her dissertation is titled “The pronation between instrumental and vocal music in G. F. Thielemann’s works and his contemporaries”.

Among her personal successes are concerts at the Vienna Musikverein, Carnegie Hall, New York, the Munich Isarphilharmonie, Palau de la Musica in Barcelona and Suntory Hall in Tokyo. Speaking four European languages helps her easily take on new roles and connect with audiences from all over the world.

The young musician’s virtuose violin performances as well as her soprano voice are presented at famous international festivals such as the Rheingau Music festival, the Bel Arte festival and the Menuhin festival in Gstaad. She works together with music legends such as Anne-Sophie Mutter, Alexandrina Pendachanska, Diana Damrau, Raina Kabaivanska, Salvatore Accardo, Birgit Fassbender, Nayden Todorov and orchestras such as: the Munich symphony orchestra, the Augsburg philharmonic, the Aichach philharmonic, the Sofia, Varna, Plovdiv, Shumen, Pleven, Vratsa, Rousse and Razgrad philharmonics.

She takes part in recordings, concerts and interviews by the Bavarian national radio, ART TV, ZDF, the Bulgarian national radio, BNT 2, Radio Varna, “Cherno More” TV as well as in festivals such as: the Rheingau festival, the Bel Arte festival, the Frankfurt festival, the “Altomünster” European music festival etc.

She’s a laureate of national and international contests, a scholarship receiver from the “Hanns Seidel” Foundation”, the “Live Music Now” Foundation and the Rotary Club, Germany. She also expresses her self as a composer. She has already toured on four different continents and since 2021 she plays on a “Riccardo Genovese” violin: a gift from the “Albert Eckstein” Foundation’s collection in Germany.
