Petar Buchkov

Biography

He graduated from the National Academy of Music in Sofia with Prof. Svilen Raychev and Prof. Pavel Gerdjikov.

He has worked with the opera houses in Stara Zagora and Plovdiv. As a soloist of the theatre since the beginning of the 2002/2003 season, he has participated in "Don Giovanni", "Andrea Chenier", "Attila", "La Traviata", "Carmen", "L’Italiana in Algeri", "Macbeth" and "Otello" and many others.

He presented himself at various international opera festivals in Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark and Japan.

Winner of the Hristo Brambarov Competition in 2001. He was handed out a special award for his interpretation of the role of Banco from Verdi's "Macbeth".
