Martin Iliev

Biography

He graduated from the Music School in Stara Zagora and the Prof. Pancho Vladigerov National Academy of Music with Prof. Resa Koleva.

He made a career as a baritone with over 20 central roles, but in 2005 he turned to the dramatic and heroic tenor repertoire.

He made his debut as Pinkerton in "Madama Butterfly" (Puccini) and later expanded his repertoire with roles such as Pollione, "Norma" (Bellini), Manrico, "Il Trovatore", "Otello", Radamès, "Aida" (Verdi). Calàf "Turandot" (Puccini), Don José, "Carmen" (Bizet), Siegmund and Siegfried in "Der Ring des Nibelungen" (Wagner) and others. Since 2010, Martin Iliev has been a soloist of the Sofia Opera and Ballet.
