Georgi Banchev

Biography

Georgi Banchev studied classic dance at the National School of Dance Art and in 2010 he graduated in the class of Boyko Nedelchev.

In 2009 he took part in Suzanne Farrell’s Summer Seminar in Washington DC, the USA.

Awards:

  • In 2008 – First Prize, Junior Age, at the Anastas Petrov National Ballet Competition;
  • In 2009 – Second Prize, Junior Age, at the International Ballet Competition in Modica, Italy.
  • In 2012 – First Prize, Senior Age, at the Anastas Petrov National Ballet Competition.

In 2010 he began working at the Sofia Opera and Ballet as artist-ballet dancer.

 

Repertoire:

He takes part in the corps-de-ballet parts of the Sofia Opera and Ballet, as well as in solos in the following titles:

“The Nutcracker” – Spanish Doll; “Giselle” – Pas Paysanne Pas de deux

“La Bayadère” – Golden God; “In the Middle Somewhat Elevated” by Forsythe – Manuel and others.
