Emil Yordanov

Biography

Emil Yordanov was born in Varna. In 2006 he graduated from the National School of Dance Art in the class of Petar Koldamov.

In 2006 he started working at the Sofia Opera and Ballet. In season 2008-2009, he became soloist ballet dancer, and since 2011-2012 he has been premier ballet dancer.

In 2006 he took part in the international ballet competitions in Modica, Italy and in Varna, Bulgaria.

In 2008-2009 he was travelling in many cities in Italy with Fredi Franzutti’s company and performed the lead roles in the ballets: “Carmina Burana”, “La Traviata”, “The Nutcracker” and others. He was invited for special participation in San Giorgio, Italy, and was awarded the Honorary flag of the city.

He had guest-performances in Canada, Japan, the USA, Germany, Denmark, Italy, Greece, Dubai, Brazil, Morocco, Macedonia and others.

Awards:

2004 – Distinction First Degree at the XI Anastas Petrov National Meeting of Young Ballet Performers in Sofia;

2005 – he was awarded a Diploma for the Day of Bulgarian Alphabet, Bulgarian Enlightenment and Culture by the ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria;

2011 – he was awarded a Diploma by the Minister of Culture Vezhdi Rashidov for contribution in the development of Bulgarian culture;

2014 – Crystal Lyre Award for his role of Basilio from the ballet “Don Quixote” by the Union of Bulgarian Musicians and Dancers.
