Biography

Frederico Pinto was born in Aveiro, Portugal, and began his dance education in 2005 at a local school in his hometown. In 2015, he was accepted into the National Conservatory of Dance Arts in Lisbon, where he studied classical ballet and contemporary dance techniques, graduating in 2017.

In 2018, Frederico signed his first professional contract as a dancer, joining the company of the State Opera-Stara Zagora. During his time there, he performed notable solo roles, including Prince Siegfried in “Swan Lake”, Espada in “Don Quixote” (alongside guest artists Yana Salenko and Marian Walter), Prince Désiré in “The Sleeping Beauty”, and The Master in “Pilate's Dream”, among others.

In 2022, Frederico joined the Sofia Opera and Ballet troupe ,where he expanded his repertoire with remarkable solo roles. These included Lankendem in “ Le Corsaire” , Rothbart in “Swan Lake”, Blue Bird in “The Sleeping Beauty”, Stiva in “Anna Karenina”, Gatsby in “The Great Gatsby”, and Romeo in “Romeo and Juliet” , Basil in "Don Quixote " , Zorba in " Zorba the Greek " .

In 2024, Frederico was promoted to Principal Dancer at the Sofia Opera and Ballet, recognizing his exceptional talent, artistry, and contributions to the company. "
