Sofia Opera gathers singers from 6 countries in Mozart's "Die Zauberflöte"

Singers from Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Romania, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Poland gathers on its stage the Sofia Opera and Ballet in another premiere spectacle of the season – Mozart's "Die Zauberflöte".

The artists will offer the audience an unconventional interpretation of this classical work.

"This work is exceptionally rich and extremely profound. We are constantly discovering new and interesting and unexpected turns suggested by the master of the libretto and by Mozart himself."

This is what Vera Petrova, the director of the spectacle, told BNR.

She explained that the concept that the team of the spectacle was looking for was to give an answer to what The Magic Flute really is:

"We seek the answer to this question in the meaning of the sound of the universe. This sound in which each one of us fits perfectly with our differences, peculiarities, thoughts, feelings. The meaning of this sound of the universe lies in the differences in a common harmony, which Mozart brings together in a rather unusual title."
