Tears, passion and drama: “Cavalleria Rusticana” and “Pagliacci” come to life at the Sofia Opera

We experience very powerful and real emotions on stage, Gergana Rusekova and Mila Mihova shared

The pieces “Cavalleria Rusticana” and “Pagliacci” return to the Sofia Opera and Ballet stage on the 11th, 12th, 17th, 18th and 19th of October.

“The evening begins with “Cavalleria Rusticana”: a short but very impactful opera which leaves you speechless. We also cry on stage, the emotions are just that powerful”, Gergana Rusekova who performs the role of Santutsa in “Cavalleria Rusticana” shared for Bulgaria ON AIR.

Mila Mihova who plays the role of Neda in “Pagliacci’ also underlined that very powerful and real emotions are experienced on stage.

“We have an extra challenge in “Pagliacci”: we all have two roles to perform”, Mihova mentioned.

According to her, the most important thing as an artist is not to reveal to the audience what’s going to happen next in the story.

Ruseva noted that any improvisations in the art of opera are risky.
