She has performed more than forty roles in operas by Mozart, Wagner, Bizet, Mussorgsky and many Finnish composers.

She has copious concert experience and performs at the most-famous European theaters.

We introduce Niina Keitel: the Finnish mezzosoprano who debuted at the Sofia Opera Wagner festival in the role of Frika in “Das Rheingold” on the 28th of June and in “Die Walküre”.

Niina is often a guest at the National opera in Paris, Opera Frankfurt, the National theater of Manheim, the “Fine Arts” theater in Mexico City, the “San Carlo” theater in Naples, the Finnish national opera, the Royal Danish opera, the National theater of Darmstadt, at the opera festival in Savonlina, the International opera festival in Tegu and Opera Bon, at theater “Petruzzelli”, theater “Heidelberg” and the theater at Luzern.

She is defined by international critics as a multi-faceted singer with a “dark cherry-like timbre” and a broad vocal range. Her iconic roles include Carmen, Santuzza (Cavalleria Rusticana), Octavian (Der Rosenkavalier) and Judith (Bluebeard’s Castle).

Niina Keitel was the artistic director of the Lemi music festival from 2013 to 2018.

She graduated from the “Sibelius” music academy in Helsinki and began her career in Germany. She has been a member of the Finnish national opera ensemble for many years.
